Been anticipating this project since January and we got a lot of special amenities that come with this drop. The tape itself is another journey into the Astral Realm. This time it’s like a whole function straight out of the archives , there ain’t no skips or misses on this one either. West-coast inspired, with the trickle of voodoo on top to reel the folk on. Southenders is definitively that shit.

This is an exclusive FFK Spotlight blog write-up going over the art & history of the Crankboss.
Yo, what's good, Safesex?
Yo, whats poppin, Cuh?
Gucci Burr: I'm doing good. Been a hectic day, I'm always running around like a madman, but we in here. You just coming in from a flight?
Safesex: Yeah, bro. Fucking long ass flight at that, brother. Fucking. That shit was horrible. I'm not gonna lie.
Gucci Burr: Damn, I feel. Wait, you coming from New Jersey to Texas?
Safesex: Yessir, I was out there in Jersey, man, with my people, seeing my family, seeing the home. That's where they all at so I had to pop out for a couple of days.
Gucci Burr: That what's good. This is actually my first time talking to you on the phone. It's gonna be a text interview, but I'm recording it. I'm recording everything we're saying right now, so we have the transcript. It's exact, so I don't gotta, like, remember what the fuck you said. I'm gonna post pictures and your music. FFK artist representation, man. I want to help you get out there, and put a spotlight on you.
Safesex: Appreciate that. This is crazy, this is the first time nigga's talking. It's lit, bruh, nigga's been in touch heavy and shit.
When did you start making music? You're pretty much one of the newest artists I've heard in the underground.
Safesex: To be honest, I've been making music for a while. I think I really started in like 2019. That was my freshman year of college, I had my own space and shit. I had a laptop and a mic. that's when I was really experimenting with sharing my recordings and dropping on SoundCloud.
What name were you going under by before?
Safesex: Then it was Swavess. S-W-A-V-E-S-S. That what people were calling me for a minute. To the point where, now, people in real life, that's what they call me Swavess. I dropped one tape called "Wounds To Wisdom" under that name. It was, like, a real tape. I went to the studio and all that shit. I paid for it all out of pocket. That's when people were like, Oh, this nigga could rap. Maybe get some shit going, you know? So I've always had supporters, even starting off. I didn't start Crankmouf til' way later. That kind of started out of nowhere.
Gucci Burr: Yeah, that's how I heard of you. On the Crankmouf Instagram you just started fucking with us on social medias and you were showing mad love and it was organic all just like that.
Safesex: Yeah, that page started off really when he just posted shit that inspired me. I never knew that I'd be doing what it is today with the whole mixes and shit. it really just started off me posting for fun, the shit that inspired me, the art that I wanted people to see that I saw, and that really touched me with the art and music. FFK came to me from meeting Bruno. I met Bruno at a skate park and shit, mad random.
Gucci Burr: Hell yeah, real street shit.
Safesex: Yeah, real street shit. Then you put me onto all that shit. I'm like, Damn bruh, this is hard. It's really inspirational shit.
Gucci Burr: That's beautiful. FFK is a part of Basedworld, that's where a lot of the people who are like minded gravitate. At least, towards what we do. We're all based in some sort of way.
Safesex: Yeah, for sure, Bitch Mobb Nigga, Task Force, no cap.
Who are your favorite artists? underground, you know, or famous who have inspired you? and who got you into making music in the first place?
Safesex: Yeah, there's so many, man. I'd say to start off with me getting into music from the first place is, my brother. I actually have a brother who made music. He's a little older than me. He's 30 years old now, so, you know, back then, I was probably, like, 12, and he's 16 or 17. His name is Angel Mane. I'd say he's the one that really got me into it, 'cause he was doing that showed me all you need is a laptop and a mic. He was bringing that shit to the crib, recording in the closet. I'm like, dude, this is hard.
So that was definitely my first introduction into becoming a artist. But in terms of inspiration, definitely Lil B. He got me to like making shit, bruh. Like, I used to, like, really sit down and think about how I wanted to do shit and after a while, I just started doing it, you know? I think that's helped me a lot. That's what I do now, and seeing that people supported me, like, they seen it, and they realized they fuck with it. Also Slikk, Shout out to Ruben Slikk.
Gucci Burr: Fuck yeah, the Jizzboss.
Safesex: He actually gave me my first exclusive ever so shout out Slikk. He was one of his first people too, like, reposting in terms of artists and shit, reposting my mixes on his IG. So definitely big love to Slikk. You put a battery in my back when I needed it.
Gucci Burr: Same here. Metro Zu, all around. They're a big inspiration.
Safesex: Yeah, I remember watching the ho boss im Finance video on the FFK Channel. What is it? Like, he was performing live.
Gucci Burr: I was in Washington D.C. filming when he was performing. Yeah, it's crazy, man. A lot of people always bring that video up. It's a legendary performance.
Safesex: It's definitely like a fucking relic, in term of videos and shit in the underground.
Anyone else you want to shout out?
Safesex: Yeah, shout out Goulteef. Shout out Herolord B. Those are 2 other artists that really inspired me and what I do, Bruno, and my brother Chris. Goulteef, He did a lot of chopping & screws. So, he really put me onto the DJ shit too. I posted him on Crankmouf real early. The homie Virtual highway. Just, like, real underground shit, just my friends, you know? A lot of my friends inspire me. All my shit is pretty much a close circle in terms of what I'm listening to.
Gucci Burr: I feel the same, all my friends inspire me. Like all the real people around me in my everyday life.
What about producers? You got any favorite producers you're working with right now?
Safesex: I'd say one of the most legendary collabs I did was working with Keenanza. That shit was the dream come true for me. Like, hearing his beats growing up, you know? Oh, yeah. being from Florida and shit. Yeah. So working with him was lit. One of our tracks that we produced, hit 100K on my boy WHITENER page the other day. I was like, damn.
Gucci Burr: Congrats on that, G.
Safesex: Appreciate it. Shout out WHITENER, bro. I got real love for Russia. I fuck with them boys out there, man. Fuck the war bruh. Shout out my niggas out there. Shout outs to the universe. I fuck with everybody, but you know what I'm saying? Shout out to the people, though. Real people, bruh. Shout out my boy Slavery. Never Good Records shit. He did a lot. He really helped open doors for me, and get it in touch with hella producers, hella artists, in such a short time, but he showed real love.
Gucci Burr: Slavery is real underground.
Safesex: Yeah bruh, he's a fucking legend. He produced, Ski, Ski, Lil B. You know what I'm saying? Real Basedworld legend.
Let's get into the Crankboss section of your music. How would you describe your crank mixes. What are you doing in that realm of things?
Safesex: R.I.P. DJ Screw bruh. Let me just start from that and the blueprint that he made with chopping & screwing. That's kind of all I really do with it. I just add my own little style to it. It started off screen recording music or YouTube videos. I would just throw the audio into iMovie, and slow it down from there. Just having fun with it, on some bored, high shit. I want to listen to this one slow, and I want to listen to this, sped up. I was doing it for fun. I was posting it on Crankmouf. I'm sure if you go down far enough, you'll still find my iMovie shit.
Gucci Burr: Definitely, I remember you was sending me stuff like that, the Haunted Trap chops. And they were going in.
Safesex: Appreciate it, It was super fun. I would, like, slow it down and then there'll be one portion where I speed it back up for a second and then slow it back down. I was just having real fun with that shit. To the point where I think Cartier God had reposted one that I did. That was the first time that I was getting like hella random followers, and one of the followers had DMed. He's like, Yo, these are hard, how are you doing these? I told him iMovie, and he was like, Nah, you gotta use this little DJ app that I've used. So then he put me onto the DJ app, and then ever since then, that's literally all I've been using. This DJ app on my phone, just chopping & screwing and shit. I just screen record that bitch, upload it to YouTube, then convert it to MP3. If I want to drop it, I'll drop it. If not, I'll just post a screen record on Crankmouf.
Gucci Burr: I'm gonna throw up your Cartier God mix you sent me recently for the site.
Safesex: Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's gonna go crazy, bro. I did that one while I was out of Jersey. Yeah. I'm going to get some tables soon, brand new no cap. Facts. Niggas needs us some bread. broke boy shit right now.
You got a favorite song you made?
Safesex: Favorite song, I mean? Honestly, fuck. That's such a hard question. I don't know. It's probably something off of Sextin2flexin, for sure. My first project that I dropped. Nevaland got to be up there only 'cause that was the first time I rapped on my own beat. Plus, I made it at my boy's crib in Florida. Like, it was just good vibes all around that time.
Nevaland, is that your first music video?
Safesex: Yeah, it's my first music video too. Everything I was doing before was just off my laptop. When my laptops not running I'll just record on my phone. Just have some type of visuals out, you know? And nowadays, you kind of need that. You need some visuals behind your music for shit to really pop out. Shout out Amboy, man. We shot that in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Where my fams staying and shit. Under a little bridge, bruh that shit was fire.
Gucci Burr: I'm gonna put up the Nevaland video on here, too, for everyone to check out.
Safesex: I was also going to say, Definitely "Smokin Hella Blunts" I just dropped a video for that, too. I feel like "Ho Wann Mi Pogo" go hard, as well. Don't sleep on that one with me and Keenanza, It's the same thing too, like, around that time when I recorded it. It was just a special time of my life, 'cause It was during the time the whole Crankmouf started coming around. That was right in the beginning of that time. "Nevaland", "Smoking Hella Blunts", and "Ho Wann Mi Pogo". So this was my top three for number one. I can't just choose one.
Where do you see the future of music going? What do you think it's gonna be like?
Safesex: That's a tough question, Honestly, I don't know where music's heading. I think it's always changing. I don't think music's ever gonna die. There's always gonna be something new to bring to the table, even if it's inspired by something else, you know? Hopefully we still got some real shit. Like, hopefully it's not completely fried. There's stuff today that is definitely on some fried shit, and if it keeps up with that, then we're doomed, nigga.
Gucci Burr: Haha yeah, I have hope. There's still a lot of real. There will always be some real people doing some real shit. You gotta go deep though. Deep in the underground.
Safesex: Especially if you live in this shit. Like, you're doing this now, but it's all gonna play out in the end full circle, you know what I mean?
What hobbies do you have other than music?
Safesex: For the most part, I like to skate. I think that's like, the second half of my life. Skating changed my life for real. I've met so many dope artists strictly through skaters. So I'd say that for the most part skating is my biggest hobby. Then gaming with the homies and my brother, but I grew up doing that to this day.
Any big goals you set out for yourself this year?
Safesex: I want to get more exclusives going. I really wanna host tapes one day, but I'm trying to get into those and shit. I hosted one tape already for my boy WHITENER, called iPod Muzik. Shout out benjamingotbenz too, definitely go check that shit out. Definitely want to get into hosting more. I want to start dropping tapes under Crankboss, Hopefully one day I'm dropping tapes like rare cassette drop tapes and shit. I feel like that shit would so fire.
Gucci Burr: Yeah, you got to. You could get a whole thing going with that in the underground. Rare exclusives only on the crank tapes.
Safesex: Definitely more tapes under Safesex, too, on my rapping shit. I'm trying to start dropping more tapes. I might have one coming out with my dog Playasin, He a hard ass producer, That's what I'm working with right now, you feel? Other than that, the goal is to keep making art, you know, keep finding an inspiration to make this shit. These beats, these songs, these mixes. Maybe one day getting the clothes and shit. Who knows?
Gucci Burr: That's good to hear. Yeah, just keep it open. Keep doing whatever the fuck you want on some some Bam Margera type shit.
Safesex: Yeah, that nigga bam. Yeah, bruh.
Gucci Burr: All right, so that's pretty much the meat of the music part. I have 2 final questions.
What is the craziest shit that's ever happened to you?
Safesex: Craziest shit that's ever happened to me. On some funny shit, niggas got hit by a car type shit. Like, I legit got my leg ran over by a car. You know what I'm saying? Like 6 years old, bruh.
Gucci Burr: That's tragic, man.
Safesex: Yeah, I mean, niggas was riding the bike. This is back in Florida. I used to stay at these apartments and our trash can, was at the front of the apartments. So you'd have to walk your trash to the to the front. On this day, this lady put her trash bags, like, on her windshield. She had 2 trash bags covering her windshield. So I'm riding my bike right next to her somehow, nigga. That's my luck. I follow up on that bitch, and that bitch ain't seen me. She just completely ran over my leg. I think that's the craziest shit that's ever happened to me in my life.
Other than some like, stupid shit, that was crazy, crazy. I got caught in a flood, gang. In Jersey. Fucking, it was like a random Saturday or Friday. Niggas got rained on and shit and it was so bad that the streets started flooding. And I'm on my way to the skate session, right? With the homies, we was gonna go to like a parking garage or something. We got caught in the middle of the flood, bruh, so we, like, busted right, and the car stopped moving and shit, 'cause there's so much water. So now were just parked up in the middle of the road, and I feel my feet getting wet and shit. That's when I was, like, Yo, we gotta ditch the car!
So I jump out the window of the whip, into this pool of water, nigga. like surrounding the whip. It's pouring rain on me and all that. I'm like, fuck it, bruh. We got to survive. Nigga, like, now I'm on... Survival mode. Fuck this skate sesh, fuck the whip, man, we on survival mode. Everybody was walking on like railroad tracks, trying to find shelter, and you're like, this shit is crazy. So... niggas find shelter, whatever, for like a minute, but the water just keeps rising. I'm like, damn, they were looking to drown out this bitch. I had a guardian angel come down and give me clothes. A random lady saw us, fucked around, gave me, like, dry clothes and shit. I ended up seeing the NJ transit. I bang on the window, and I'm like, yo, let us in, let us in, you feel me? Like, nigga's not trying to be outside right now. Like, I know y'all see this. They gave it some free ride home, all that shit. We would've had to walk home in the rain. That nigga's whip got totaled.
Final question, Your message to the youth. Anyone who sees this, what would you say to them?
Safesex: Live your life, man. Believe in yourself. Make sure you have fun. Do what you want to do. You know what I'm saying? Stay out of trouble, stay safe. Love your peers, always keep it real, and move with your heart.
Gucci Burr: It was great talking to you, dude. Great interview, I'm glad it was you to be the first one to start this off. It's very rare...
Safesex: Hell yeah, Fucking.. already. We'll chop it up again soon.
Gucci Burr: Fosho, It's always good talking to you,
Safesex: Yeah, fosho.. I appreciate that shit.
Gucci Burr: Alright, G, stay up. I'll talk to you soon.

IMAGINE LIVING IN A WORLD SO FULL OF LIES AND DECEPTION THAT WHEN YOU SHOW PEOPLE THE TRUTH, THEY THINK YOU ARE CRAZY.
In 2020 during the height of the pandemic, I began putting together an FFK art piece styled into a conspiracy documentary called "Monitor the World". While gathering the needed information for this visual, I discovered a lot more to these atrocities than what is known to us and that information is still being suppressed to this day. This documentary art piece was never completed due to the weight of the new information received.
